This level translator takes active high input (sourcing) type input and gives an active low (sinking) open collector output or sourcing outputs. It draws minimum current from the input and gives comparatively high sinking currents (150mA). Four such drivers are provided in a module and a free wheeling diode is also provided to the output common from each output. This is useful for driving inductive loads. A zener is provided in series with each input. This ensures a 'must cross' voltage for inputs which enhances the noise immunity of the unit.
